Heavy snow forecast this morning

Snow will rapidly increase in intensity across west central Minnesota in this morning, causing deteriorating travel conditions.

The National Weather Service says most areas from Alexandria to Morris toward Montevideo and Benson should have an inch or two of snow by 9 a.m.

Periods of heavy snow will continue through the morning along with increasing northeast winds which will develop blowing and drifting.

Accumulating snow will end in west central Minnesota early this afternoon.
