Helen Fuls Swart April 22, 1919 - May 4, 2009
RENVILLE -- Helen Fuls Swart, 90, of Renville, died Monday at Renville County Hospital in Olivia.
The service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Emden Christian Reformed Church in Renville. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday in Dirks-Blem Funeral Home in Renville and for one hour prior to the service at the church.
She was born April 22, 1919, in Rheiderland Township, Chippewa County, to Helmer and Carrie (Ryks) Negen. She grew up on a farm and attended District 12 Chippewa County rural school.
She married George Fuls on Jan. 18, 1940. They farmed for several years before to moving into Renville. She was a homemaker and also worked at several businesses in Renville.
She married George Swart on Nov. 17, 1989. They lived in Renville and spent winters in Arizona. She moved into the RenVilla Nursing Home. She was a member of Emden Christian Reformed Church, where she was also a member of the ladies aid.
She is survived by her three children: Phyllis (and James) Santjer of Sacred Heart, Dalen (and Donna) Fuls of Renville and Doug Fuls of Willmar; stepchildren: Delores (and Calvin) Tebben of Prinsburg, Linda Host of Buffalo Lake, Darlene (and Lowell) Bonnema of Brainerd, Byron Brouwer of Prinsburg and Lucinda (and Arlyn) Slagter of Omaha, Neb.; nine grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; three sisters: Rena Asche, Alma (and Alvin) Blom and Carolyn (and Paul) Viss, all of Willmar.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, George Fuls in 1985 and George Swart in 2003; one brother and one sister.
