Helen H. Eitel

RENVILLE -- Helen Hulda Eitel, 83, of Renville, died Saturday at the Golden Living Center in Olivia.
The service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at First Lutheran Church in Renville. Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery in Chaska.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Dirks-Blem Funeral Home in Renville and one hour prior to the service Friday at the church.
She was born Dec. 23, 1924, in Jordan to George "Pat" and Bertha (Dubbe) Greenwald. She was raised in Jordan and graduated from Jordan High School. During World War II, she worked for the Department of Defense manufacturing ammunition for the war effort. Following the war she worked for the Jones Harrison Nursing Home in Minneapolis for three years. She then worked for National T as a key puncher for three years.
She married Hilbert E. Eitel on April 17, 1948, in Jordan. They lived in Chaska prior to moving to Renville in 1979. She worked at the RenVilla Nursing Home for 10 years, and later volunteered at the nursing home for many years.
She was a member of First Lutheran Church and was active in the Ladies Aid and the Tuesday morning Bible study group. She was also a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary.
She is survived by her children: Gary (and Kim) Eitel of Plymouth, Jim (and Claudia Murphy) Eitel of Telford, Tenn., Sandy Eitel of Visalia, Calif., and Cindy (and Bob) Pagelkopf of Chaska; 12 grandchildren; three brothers: Marvin Greenwald (and Iva) of Brooklyn Park, Dale (and Louisa) Greenwald of Brooklyn Park and Glen (and Iona) Greenwald of Hayeville, N.C.
She was preceded in death by her husband, two grandsons and two sisters.
