Helen L. Hruby Dec. 9, 1917 - June 30, 2009
MORRIS -- Helen Lucille Hruby, 91 of Sauk Rapids, formerly of Appleton and Morris, died Tuesday.
The service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Assumption Catholic Church in Morris. Burial will be at Graceville Consolidated Cemetery in Graceville,
Visitation will be held at 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service Friday at the church.
She was born Dec. 9, 1917 in Anthon, Iowa, to Andrew and Agnes (Flynn) Eisenmenger. The family moved to a farm near Graceville, Minn., when she was 2. She attended school at District 38 near Graceville and graduated from Graceville High School. She worked as a waitress in Minneapolis and Morris.
She married Lester Hruby on Oct. 12, 1940, in Graceville. They lived in Appleton, rural Morris and rural Hancock. They moved to Lynchburg, N.D., Sisseton, S.D., Windom and Porter. They moved briefly to Starbuck and back to Morris. Lester died in 2003. She remained in Morris until 2007 when she moved to Ridgeview Place in Sauk Rapids.
She is survived by her children: Shirley (and Don) Kelly of St. Cloud, Cecelia (and Jim) Eddy of Emmaus, Pa., Michael (and Valeria) Hruby of Sandstone, Thomas (and Kathy) Hruby of Bemidji, Douglas (and Dottie) Hruby of Marion, S.D., Mark (and Carol) Hruby of Porter and Gregory Hruby of Cold Spring; 18 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; a daughter: Sheila Stewart; one granddaughter; and seven siblings.
