Helen Luckhardt Feb. 2, 1920 - Aug. 17, 2009
OLIVIA -- Helen Marion Luckhardt, 89, of Olivia, formerly of Redwood Falls, died Monday at the Golden Living Center in Olivia.
The service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Catherine's Catholic Church in Redwood Falls. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the church, with a 7:30 p.m. prayer service, and for one hour prior to the service Thursday. Arrangements are with Redwood Valley Funeral Home in Redwood Falls.
She was born Feb. 2, 1920, in New Ulm to Emil and Marie (Schmitz) Zuhlsdorf. She grew up near Evan and attended country school in District 29 and St. Mary's High School in Sleepy Eye.
She married Lynnae E. "Bud" Luckhardt on Sept. 4, 1945, in Sleepy Eye. They farmed near Springfield, Clements, Morgan and Wabasso. In 1975 they retired and moved to Redwood Falls. She moved to Olivia in 2004.
She was a member of St. Catherine's Madonna Quilt Club and Sundown Riders Saddle Club.
She is survived by her six children: Lynnette (and Tom) Zilka of Redwood Falls, LaDonna (and Tom) Baumann of New Ulm, Steve (and Monica) Luckhardt of Clements, Kathy (and Jim) Steinbesser of Olivia, Dean Luckhardt of Morton, Gene (and Mary) Luckhardt of Redwood Falls; daughter-in-law: Marcia (and Jerry) Hubner of Tracy; 21 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1999; son: Bill in 1995; two brothers; and one sister in infancy.
