NEW LONDON -- Helen Marie Geer, 73, of New London, died Tuesday at Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar.
The service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Peace Lutheran Church in New London. Burial will be in Burbank Cemetery in rural New London.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday at Johnson Funeral Home in New London and for one hour prior to the service Sunday at the church.
She was born July 9, 1935, in Lake Andrew Township to Christian and Lena (Swenson) Korsmo. She grew up there and graduated from New London High School in 1953.
She married Paul Rader Geer on Aug. 6, 1954. They lived in Arizona for a short time before they settled near New London. She worked at the New London High School and also at the Senior Nutrition site before she started Southtown Daycare seven years ago.
She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church where she served in WELCA and Altar Guild, played piano for the Peace Pipers, served as a Spiritual Grandparent and went on a mission trip to Jamaica. She was a member of the New London Legion Auxiliary Post 537.
She is survived by her children: Lynn (and Richard) Pryor of Waxhaw, N.C., Michael Geer of New London, Timothy (and Shari) Geer of New London, Mary (and Douglas) Pratt of Grove City, Lois Kester of Willmar and Pamela Geer of Scottsdale, Ariz.; 11 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; and siblings: Luann (and Donald) Knott of Raymond, Florence (and James) Netland of Wayzata and Kenneth (and Elaine) Korsmo of Raymond.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul, on March 4, 1996; two grandchildren and one brother.
