OLIVIA -- Helena Therese Wohnoutka, 91, of Olivia, died Thursday at RenVilla Nursing Home in Renville.

The service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Olivia. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, with a rosary at 6:45 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Dirks-Blem Funeral Home in Olivia and from 9:15 to 10:15 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Memorials are preferred to Renville County Hospice.

She was born Nov. 30, 1917, in Henryville Township, rural Olivia, to John and Emma (Wilt) Frank. She attended country school through the seventh grade at District 59 and attended eighth grade at Aloysianum in Olivia.

On July 10, 1934, she married William J. Wohnoutka in Bechyn. They farmed until 1952 when they moved into Olivia.

She was active at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in the English Rosary Society, making quilts, leading rosaries and as a Eucharistic minister. In 1994 she was awarded the Bishop's Medal of Honor Eucharistic Award.

She is survived by 11 children: Robert (and Diane) Wohnoutka of Spicer, Margaret (and Richard) Bergo of Spicer, Therese Kragenbring of Atwater, Phyllis (and Chris) Berninger of Crawfordville, Fla., Betty (and Marvin) Dubert of Hosford, Fla., Jerry (and Sue) Wohnoutka of Richfield, Jim (and Kathy) Wohnoutka of Minneota, Dianne (and Al) Nichols of Punta Gorda, Fla., Karen (and Dennis) Barta of Olivia, Greg (and Becky) Wohnoutka of Sparks, Nev., and Deb (and Lionel) Kull of Rice; 40 grandchildren; 64 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and a sister: Marie Wohnoutka of Bird Island.

She was preceded in death by her husband; son-in-law, Robert Kragenbring; a granddaughter; four brothers; and two sisters.
