BELGRADE -- Herb Lloyd Halle, 87, of Belgrade died Monday at the Belgrade Nursing Home.
The service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Hope Presbyterian Church in Spicer. Burial will be in Sunset Cemetery in Montevideo.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Johnson Funeral Home in New London and for one hour prior to the service at the church.
He was born May 9, 1921, in Devils Lake, N.D., to Frank and Ida Mae (Delaney) Halle. He attended grade school in Plummer. He entered the U.S. Army during World War II, receiving a Purple Heart.
He married Sharan Hunter on Oct. 18, 1958. He worked as a farmhand throughout Minnesota and lived in Crookston, Montevideo, St. James, Renville and Belgrade.
He is survived by his wife; children: Harold (and Kris) Halle of Appleton and Ida (and Donald) Knopps of New London; eight grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and siblings: Robert (and Mildred) Halle of Woodburn, Ore., and Bessie Koland of Alexandria.
He was preceded in death by two sons: Fredrick and Patrick; a daughter: Ruby; two grandchildren; five brothers; and one sister.
