Highway 212 between Montevideo and Granite closed after crash

WILLMAR - The Minnesota Department of Transportation has closed U.S. Highway 212 between Montevideo and Granite Falls due to a fatal multiple vehicle crash.

The crash site is between Yellow Medicine County roads 5 and 7, according to T.J. Melcher, spokesman for MnDOT.

There is no specific detour established around the closure, he said, and there is no estimate yet on when the road will reopen.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol website, the crash was reported at 11:36 a.m. No information was available about the number of vehicles or number of people involved.
