Highway 212 in McLeod County, Minn., to open late this afternoon
WILLMAR - Highway 212 will open to traffic late in the afternoon today, the Minnesota Department of Transportation says in a news release. Traffic has been detoured on U.S. Highway 212 from state Highway 15 west of Brownton to state Highway 22 for the final stage of a resurfacing project.
The 28-mile project extended from Renville County Road 16 west of Hector to the start of the four-lane highway west of Glencoe. The project consisted of pavement resurfacing, new turn-lane construction and culvert lining.
The completed project will provide motorists with a smoother ride surface and safer highway.
Knife River Corp. is the prime contractor for the construction project.
