The 28.3-mile project extends from Renville County Road 16 west of Hector to the start of the four-lane highway west of Glencoe. The project consists of pavement resurfacing, new turn-lane construction and culvert lining.

The project will be detoured in three stages. Beginning May 16, Highway 212 traffic will be detoured north on Renville County Road 16, east on Renville County Road 11 and McLeod County Road 18, south on Highway 15, then back to Highway 212. The first phase of the detour is expected to remain in place until July 11.

When the project is completed, motorists will experience a smoother, safer road.

Knife River Corp. North Central is the prime contractor for the $28.3 million project, which is scheduled for completion in early November, weather permitting.
