Highway 23 detour from Marshall to Cottonwood to end Friday
WILLMAR -- Motorists can resume travel on state Highway 23 from Marshall to Cottonwood on Friday, weather permitting.
The Minnesota Department of Transportation said in a news release the construction will end Friday and the detour will be lifted.
Highway 23 traffic has been detoured since early May to extend the four lanes and install lighting from north of Highway 19 in Marshall to north of Lyon County Road 33. The second portion of the project included a mill and overlay and lighting project from one mile north of Lyon County Road 33 to north of Lyon County Road 24 south of Cottonwood. Passing lanes were also constructed along this segment of the project to improve safety.
