MORRIS - State Highway 28 west of Morris has been reopened Thursday afternoon after being blocked by a Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway train most of Thursday, the Stevens County Sheriff's Office has reported.

A BNSF train was stalled by snow that drifted over tracks along Highway 28 west of Morris near the airport.

The train became stuck in snow about a quarter mile from the crossing on 510th Street. Train cars blocked the Highway 28 crossing about two miles west of Morris.

Authorities diverted traffic to alternate routes beginning at 5th Street and Atlantic Avenue in Morris.

MORRIS - A Burlington Northern Sante Fe train was stalled Thursday morning by snow that drifted over tracks along state Highway 28 west of Morris.

The BNSF train became stuck in snow about a quarter mile from the crossing on 510th Street, which is near the airport.

Train cars blocked the Highway 28 crossing about two miles west of Morris. Aauthorities are diverting through traffic to alternate routes beginning at 5th Street and Atlantic Avenue in Morris.

Stevens County Emergency Management Services reported that the roadway could be blocked up to six hours, and is suggesting West 8th Street - which is also 220th Street - as an alternate route.
