Highway 29 project to begin Oct. 1 in Montevideo

WILLMAR -- Motorists in Montevideo may encounter minor delays when the state Highway 29 resurfacing project from U.S. Highway 212 to Chippewa County Road 15 begins Monday, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.

The project involves removing four inches of the existing pavement and replacing it with four inches of pavement, and installing pedestrian accessible ramps and signal revisions.

Central Specialties Inc. is the contractor for the $867,000 project, which is scheduled for completion near the beginning of November, weather permitting.

MnDOT says in a news release that motorists will experience a smoother and safer road surface when the entire project is complete.
