Highway 55 east of Lowry, Minn., remains closed through the end of the week
DETROIT LAKES -- State Highway 55 east of Lowry will remain closed through at least Friday to allow crews to continue working on downed power lines.

The Minnesota Department of Transportation and the Minnesota State Patrol closed Highway 55 on Aug. 1 due to storm damage.
According to a news release from MnDOT, traffic is detoured using state Highway 29 and Pope County Road 28.
The power line recovery effort is taking longer than originally expected, and MnDOT is working with the power company to open Highway 55 as soon as safely possible.
In addition, water has receded from state Highway 28 in Glenwood near the Pope County Fairgrounds and warning signs have been removed from the area.
