Students in Matt Olson's construction trades class at the Montevideo High School are building a home that aims to be 50 percent more energy-efficient than the traditional Habitat for Humanity house. It incorporates a geothermal heating and cooling system and, of course, ample insulation.

The project partners include the city of Montevideo, the Montevideo School District, Clean Up our River Environment, private businesses and the West Central chapter of Habitat for Humanity.
