HOF coach Jay Pivec returns with Dakota Co. Technical College

Jay Pivec and the Dakota County Technical College Blue Knights (14-5) roll into Willmar for a 7 p.m. game today with the Ridgewater Warriors (6-11).

The NJCAA Hall of Fame coach is off to an impressive start with a first-year team that is playing mainly Iowa scholarship programs.

Pivec coached Minneapolis Community College to a 452-115 record in 20 seasons before the program was dropped in 2010. His longtime assistant, Ron Gates, has joined him on the Rosemount campus.
