Hopkins, DeLaSalle, Braham, Maranatha win state girls basketball titles
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- Junior Sydney Coffey scored 18 points to lead Hopkins to a 67-45 win against Eden Prairie in the Class AAAA state girls basketball finals on Saturday at Target Center.
Sophomore Nia Coffey -- Sydney's sister -- added 12 points and had 9 rebounds as the Royals (30-2) won their third state title and first since 2006.
Jackie Johnson led Eden Prairie (24-5) with 14 points and 13 rebounds. Shayne Mullaney scored 12 points for the Eagles.
