Hot, humid weather expected this week in west central Minn.
It will be another hot, humid day in west central Minnesota.
The National Weather Service in Chanhassen has issued a hazardous weather outlook for portions of west central Minnesota today. Temperatures are expected to hit the low 90s by this afternoon, with heat indices ranging from 90 to 100 degrees.
Counties in the outlook include Swift, Kandiyohi, Meeker, Pope and Stearns.
The hazardous weather outlook extends through the week, with similar temperatures and heat indices expected Wednesday and Thursday. There is also a chance of thunderstorms Wednesday night into Friday, with strong to severe storms likely on Thursday. The storms could produce damaging winds and hail.
To stay cool in the heat, the Weather Service recommends drinking plenty of water, spending time in air-conditioned places, staying out of the sun and eliminating strenuous activities.
