ST. PAUL -- Howard Folger Davies, 88, of St. Paul, died Tuesday.
The service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Minneapolis. Burial will be in Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
He was born Dec. 23, 1920 to Edwin and Catherine (Folger) Davies. He graduated from Grand Rapids High School. He served in the Army during World War II in the Pacific Theater and participated in the occupation of Japan. He graduated from the University of Minnesota.
He married Viola Johnson on Sept. 10, 1949.
They moved to Willmar in 1963 where he worked for a few years at Farmers Union Co-op Credit Union. He later worked as a field examiner for the state tax department. He was treasurer of the Kandiyohi County Historical Society for 10 years.
He is survived by his wife; sons: David Davies and Mark Davies and one grandson.
He was preceded in death by one granddaughter and one brother.
