REDWOOD FALLS -- Howard Frederick Prahl, 84, of Redwood Falls died Saturday at Seasons in Redwood Falls.
The service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Redwood Falls. Private burial will be in Eden Mount Hope Cemetery, Eden Township, Brown County.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Nelson-Martin Funeral Service in Redwood Falls and for one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the church. Memorials are preferred to Redwood Falls Hospital Hospice.
He was born Aug. 13, 1924, in New Ulm to Otto Karl and Emily Sophie (Hensel) Prahl. He grew up on the family farm in rural Morgan and attended District 16, Grass Valley School.
He married Phyllis Ludwig on Sept. 17, 1955. They lived on a farm in Eden Township. He farmed his entire life. He retired in 1989 and they moved into Redwood Falls while he continued to help his son on the farm.
He was a member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Redwood Falls where he served on the church council. He had been a member of Eden Evangelical Lutheran Church and Zion Lutheran Church in Morgan.
He is survived by his wife; sons: Stan of Hutchinson, and Steven of Morgan; three grandsons; and his sister: Helen Runck of New Ulm.
He was preceded in death by one brother.
