Email

Ryan Howard has hit his seventh career grand slam, tying Hall of Famer Mike Schmidt for the Philadelphia Phillies record.

Howard hit a 1-1 pitch from St. Louis Cardinals right-hander Kyle Lohse well over the right-field wall, an estimated 428 feet, in the fifth inning Monday night to put the Phillies ahead 6-1. It was his second slam of the season.

The homer was Howard's fifth of the season.
