Minnesota man accused in 5-year-old girl's death indicted by grand jury

Hwy. 4 sign work to begin Monday

WILLMAR -- A project to replace signs on state Highway 4 from Fairfax to Paynesville begins Monday.

The project is expected to be complete by Sept. 4.

Because of narrow shoulders, the highway will be reduced to a single lane near sign replacement sites. Motorists will encounter stop signs, may be required to take turns or will have flaggers direct motorists through the work zones.

The project begins at state Highway 19 in Fairfax and goes north to the junction with state Highway 55 southeast of Paynesville.

Crews will replace damaged and worn signs. The Minnesota Department of Transportation replaces signs on a 12-year rotation as required by the federal government.

H & R Construction was awarded the $64,482 project.
