Inez R. Vreeman, 77, of Clara City, died Wednesday, June 25, 2014, at Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar. Her funeral will be 10:30 am, Friday, June 27th at Bethany Reformed Church in Clara City. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 pm, Thursday at Bethany Reformed Church in Clara City and continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Arrangements are with Harvey Anderson Clara City Funeral Home.

Inez was born on February 26, 1937, in Clara City, Minnesota, the daughter of Egbert and Martha (Meyer) Zimmer. She grew up on the farm south of Bunde and attended District 12 and Clara City Public Schools before graduating from Clara City High School in 1955.

On November 10, 1955, Inez was united in marriage to Clayton Vreeman at Raymond Christian Reformed Church. Following their marriage, Clayton served two years in the United States Navy and they lived in San Diego. Upon his discharge, they moved to Raymond for a year before settling in Clara City where they have spent the last 56 years. She worked for a short time, while living in San Diego, at Federal State Bank and upon returning to Minnesota she worked for a few months at JCPenney. Inez was blessed with being able to stay home and raise her four children, Terry, Rhonda, Joel and Nathan.

She was baptized in March of 1937 at Bunde Christian Reformed Church and where she made her Affirmation of Faith in 1952. Inez was a member of Bethany Reformed Church where she had taught Sunday school and Catechism. She not only volunteered at church as a Bible school leader and teacher, Esther Circle member but she also volunteered with Rice Hospice, Clara City Care Center and supported Pairs and Spares.

Inez had a deep faith in God and a personal relationship with Jesus as her Lord and Savior, which led to her spending much time in prayer for family and friends. Her servant attitude and caring spirit was experienced by many as she offered cards with words of encouragement and fresh baked goods. Multiple memories of her grandchildren involved food as she loved to have the family over for meals with lunch to soon follow. Being with family was her favorite pastime and she set an example of selfless giving to all.

Surviving are her husband of 58 years, Clayton; children, Terry (and Laurie) Vreeman of Spicer; Rhonda (and Dan) Freiborg of Sacred Heart; Joel (and Sherrie) Vreeman of Willmar and Nathan (and Wendi) Vreeman of Willmar; 14 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Also surviving are her brother, Harry Zimmer of Renville; sister, Wilmine (and Lester) TerWisscha of Clara City; and brother, John (and Janice) Zimmer of Clara City; and sisters-in-laws and brothers-in-law, Gerald (and Evelyn) Vreeman of Wenatchee, WA; Jan Vreeman of Bellingham, WA; Fran TerWisscha of Lynden, WA; Dorothy (and Marty) Shockley of Willmar; Marv (and Ruby) Vreeman of Willmar; Joan (and Bill) Rens of Sioux Center, IA; Marlys (and Dale) Van De Riet of Mille Lacs and John (and Linda) Vreeman of Osseo.
