Tinklenberg fourth

at D-III championship

Willmar native Alissa Tinklenberg, swimming for Gustavus in the 200 backstroke at the 2014 NCAA Division III championships, touched the wall in 2:00.33 for a fourth place finish in the final individual event of her collegiate career. Her finish was the second-highest in program history at the NCAA championship behind Beth DeLaRosby’s third place swim in the 50 freestyle in 2004. It was also Tinklenberg’s second individual All-American performance of the meet. Tinklenberg finished the meet an All-American in the 200-freestyle relay, 400-freestyle relay, 400-medley relay, 100 backstroke, and 200 backstroke.  She is the most decorated swimmer in Gustavus history with 12 All-American swims (five individual, seven relay) to her credit.
