Report: November return possible for Harvin

The Seattle Seahawks are hoping that wide receiver Percy Harvin will be recovered from hip surgery around Thanksgiving, NFL.com reported Wednesday.

The team and Harvin announced Tuesday night that Harvin will undergo surgery on Thursday in New York for a labrum tear suffered during a preseason workout. The recovery time is estimated at three to four months,

That would put Harvin on course for a possible return in Week 13 for a Monday night game against the New Orleans Saints, according to NFL.com. The Seahawks have a bye in Week 12 and play the Minnesota Vikings, Harvin's former team, in Week 11.

While the loss of Harvin would seem to be a blow to the Seattle offense, fellow wide receiver Golden Tate told ESPN.com that the team will survive.

Four town teams in

action this weekend

The Bird Island, Raymond, New London-Spicer and Regal amateur baseball teams will be in action this weekend as the Region 15C and Region 11C tournaments begin.

A Regal victory would put the Eagles in a second round game against the winner of Richmond and New Munich at 11 a.m. Sunday. If the Eagles lose on Friday, they would play at 1:30 p.m. Sunday.

If New London-Spicer wins on Friday, the Twins would play the winner of the Spring Hill and St. Martin game at 8:15 p.m. Saturday. If the Twins lose their first round game, they would play at 4 p.m. Sunday.

In the 11C tournament, Bird Island plays at Cold Spring at 1:30 p.m. Saturday and Raymond plays at Eden Valley at 4 p.m. Saturday.

If Bird Island and Raymond both win, they would play each other at 5 p.m. Sunday in Raymond. If one or the other loses, they would play at noon Sunday in either Eden Valley or Raymond.
