Ridgewater at Crown College for scrimmage

After two weeks hitting one another, the Ridgewater Warriors can take their aggression out on another team when they travel to St. Bonifacius to scrimmage Crown College today.

The 6 p.m. scrimmage has a structured format of run offense vs. run defense, followed by a 50-play, full-team scrimmage, with each team running 25 offensive plays.

Crown, an NCAA Division III program playing in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference, finished 2-8 last fall. They move into the new 1,300-seat KleinBank Stadium with synthetic turf this fall.

The Warriors have almost 80 players on their roster following a 4-5 season. They open the regular season against Itasca College at home at 7 p.m. next Thursday.

Willmar hosting swim/dive invitational Saturday

The Willmar Cardinal Invitational leads of the pool system Saturday at the high school. Diving is scheduled for 10 a.m. followed by swimming events. Guests are Bemidji, Melrose Area, Morris/Minnewaska, Montevideo and St. Cloud Tech.

Ridgewater starts up volleyball season today

The Ridgewater volleyball team begins its season today playing Central Lakes College of Brainerd at 1 p.m. and at 5 p.m. against Dakota State JV in the first day of the six-team Ridgewater Classic Tournament.

On Saturday Ridgewater takes on Ellsworth (Iowa) CC at 1 p.m. and Waldorf (Iowa) College JV at 5 p.m.
