Steve Brisendine of Spicer made a hole-in-one at the Little Crow Country Club on Tuesday, using a 7-iron to ace No. 5 on the Pines from 160 yards out.
Jackson named one of CLC’s top performers
Willmar senior Rose Jackson was named the Central Lakes Conference Girls Track and Field Top Performer of the Week on Monday for collecting three medals at the Class AA State Meet.
Jackson won bronze in the long jump, placed sixth in the 100-meter dash and was seventh in the 200-meter dash. She was also a member of the Cardinals’ 4x400 relay team that ran in the state meet.
For her prep career at Willmar, Jackson — who signed earlier in the school year to join the North Dakota State University track and field team — pocketed eight state medals in her sophomore, junior and senior years.
Deadline for Willmar Fests softball tourney Friday
The deadline for registering a team for next Saturday’s Willmar Fests softball tournament is Friday.
The entry fee is $120 and there is a three-game guarantee. Contact the Willmar Community Education and Recreation office at 320-231-8490 for more information.
Spicer’s 3-on-3 hoops tournament July 6
The 13th annual Hoops by the Lake 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament at the Saulsbury Beach parking lot on Green Lake in Spicer is set for Saturday, July 6.
There are 11 divisions for men and women and boys and girls in grades 5-12 (based on grade entering for the 2013-14 school year). Entry forms can be found at www.spicermn.com and the deadline to sign up is Thursday, June 27.
