Intersection wreaks havoc

WILLMAR -- A 1993 Ford Tempo and a 2005 Ford Focus collided Tuesday morning at the intersection of South First Street and Willmar Avenue.

The Tempo driver, Noreen Ann Sperl, 44, of Granite Falls, reported neck and back pain and was transferred to Rice Memorial Hospital. The driver of the Focus, Michael Myrick, 55, of Willmar, reported no injuries.

Willmar police, along with the Kandiyohi County Sheriff's Department and the Willmar Fire Department, responded to the scene at 10:56 a.m. Tuesday. The Fire Department was on hand to clean up leaking fluids from the cars. Both cars were totaled, according to Willmar police.
