Sami Rasouli returned to Iraq from the Twin Cities to be with his people during the U.S. occupation. He was the owner of Sinbad's Restaurant, one of the first to introduce Middle Eastern culture to the Twin Cities.

He left his business at the start of the war to join a peacekeeping team formed in response to the violence that the country has experienced since the 2003 invasion. Rasouli was in Montevideo one year ago to tell about his experiences in Iraq. He will report on a sister city project and other connections the Iraqi delegation is making in the Twin Cities.

His visit to Montevideo is sponsored by the Montevideo Area Peace Seekers.
