Irene M. Kuelbs March 2, 1922 - March 17, 2009
REDWOOD FALLS -- Irene Marie Kuelbs, 87, of Redwood Falls died Tuesday at her home in Garnette Gardens.
The service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Catherine's Catholic Church in Redwood Falls with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be for two hours prior to the service at the church. The Nelson-Martin Funeral Service of Redwood Falls is handling the arrangements.
She was born March 2, 1922, in Bashaw Township, Brown County, to August and Anna (Platz) Reiner. She was raised on the family farm and attended area schools. Later, she was employed at Temple Grocery Store in Morgan as a bookkeeper.
She married Delbert Juenneman on Sept. 29, 1941. He was killed shortly thereafter in North Africa during World War II.
She married Isidore Kuelbs on Feb. 20, 1946, in Morgan. They settled on the farm in Sundown Township near Clements. They retired from farming in 1987 and purchased a home in Redwood Falls. They moved to Garnette Gardens in Redwood Falls in 2006.
She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Clements and St. Catherine's Catholic Church in Redwood Falls.
She is survived by her husband; children: Pam Bratsch of Edina, Doug (and Rita) Kuelbs of Clements, Jean (and Steve) Ward of Darwin and Brenda (and Mike) Flinn of Redwood Falls; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a sister: Agnes Koll of Morgan.
She was preceded in death by her first husband; a son: Michael; and two sisters.
