GRANITE FALLS -- James Allen Anderson, 70, of Granite Falls, died Monday at the Clarkfield Care Center following an extended illness.

The service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Granite Falls Lutheran Church. Burial will be at Granite Falls City Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Wing-Bain Funeral Home in Granite Falls and for one hour prior to the service Thursday at the church.

He was born Jan. 1, 1938, in Wood Lake to John A. and Ethel (Haave) Anderson. He attended school in Granite Falls and served in the United States Air Force from 1957 to 1959.

He married Dawn Hagen on Nov. 12, 1960, in Granite Falls. He worked as a mechanic and wood finisher and was employed by Victor Fluid Power as a machinist until his retirement in 2000.

He is survived by his wife; daughter: Tammy (and Bob) Schjenken of Sacred Heart; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brother: Curtis (and Marlene) Anderson of Blaine; and three sisters: Carol Iverson of Granite Falls, Virg (and Erv) Klimik of Alexandria and Eleanor Jensvold of Granite Falls.

He was preceded in death by his son: Brian; and one brother.
