James B. Saunders March 22, 1928 - Jan. 31, 2009

BENSON -- James Bernard Saunders, 80, died Saturday at Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar.

The service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Pilgrim Congregational Church in Benson. Burial will be at the Benson City Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at church in Benson and will continue one hour prior to the service. Arrangements are by Zniewski Funeral Home in Benson.

He was born March 22, 1928, in Torning Township, Swift County, to Linus and Cora (Hackert) Saunders. He attended school in District 38 in Swift County and graduated from Benson High School.

He married Jeanette Henrichs on March 8, 1953, in Morris.

He farmed on the family farm his entire life. He was a member of Pilgrim Congregational Church in Benson. He was a member of Putts and Purrs Tractor Club.

He is survived by his wife; children: John (and Ondine) Saunders of Seattle, Allen (and Janet) Saunders of Benson, Rodney (and Susan) Saunders of Boise, Idaho, Steven Saunders of Portland, Ore., Nancy (and Jim) Meyhoefer of Shakopee, Peggy (and Doug) Heldman of Forest Lake; six grandchildren; and sisters: Agnes O'Malley of Benson, Betty (and Len) Bauman of Duluth and Margie Wakeman of Greeley, Colo.

He was preceded in death by one brother and four sisters.
