James D. Benham May 1, 1949 - June 25, 2009
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. -- James David Benham, 60, of Sioux Falls, S.D., formerly of Benson, died Thursday at his home.
The service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Francis Catholic Church in Benson. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at the church, with a parish prayer service at 5:30 p.m., and for one hour before the service. Zniewski Fineral Home in Benson is handling arrangements.
He was born May 1, 1949, in Benson to Wesley and Bernice (Fennell) Benham. He grew up on a farm near Danvers and attended country school. He graduated from Benson High School and attended Alexandria Technical School.
He married Yvonne Wicklund on June 14, 1969, in Benson. They were divorced in 1977. He worked as an over-the-road truck driver based out of Alexandria and, most recently, he drove for Wheelchair Express of Sioux Falls, S.D.
He is survived by his children: Angela (and Dean) Krebs of Alexandria, Michael (and Alison) Benham of Alexandria and Samantha (and Brian) Helmin of Foley; seven grandchildren; his mother of Benson; and siblings: Bonnie (and Ray) Smith of Benson, Tom (and LouAnn) Benham of Brooklyn Park, and Marilyn (and Tom) Lee of Benson.
He was preceded in death by his father in 1996.
