James Dillabough Jan. 26, 1951 - May 25, 2009
WILLMAR -- James W.A. "Jim" Dillabough, 58, of Willmar, died Monday at his home.
The service will be at 1 p.m. Friday at First Presbyterian Church in Willmar. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Willmar.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Harvey Anderson Funeral Home in Willmar and for one hour prior to the service Friday at the church.
He was born Jan. 26, 1951, in Minot, N.D., to Archibald and Nellie (Ewen) Dillabough. He grew up in Sarles, N.D., where he attended elementary school and graduated from Border Central High School in 1969. He graduated from junior college in Devils Lake, N.D., in 1970 with an auto mechanics degree. He then started with Burlington Northern Railroad.
He married Carol Nelson on June 4, 1977, in St. Paul. They lived in Fridley and Coon Rapids until moving to Willmar in 1979. He was working for Burlington Northern Santa Fe as a locomotive engineer.
He was a member of First Presbyterian Church where he had served as a deacon and was active with the Boy Scouts of America having been a Cub Scout master, a Boy Scout leader and master, and receiving the Wood Badge.
He is survived by his wife; children: Shane Dillabough of Willmar, Christina (and Jason) Olson of Spicer and Travis Dillabough of Willmar; three grandchildren; and his sister: Gloria (and Harlan) Soholt of Belt, Mont.
