VESTA -- Janice Marie Macklenburg, 64, of rural Vesta, died Friday at Methodist Hospital in St. Louis Park after a 10-year battle with cancer.
The service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Echo. Burial will be in the Echo Cemetery.
Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Sunset Funeral Home in Echo and continues Wednesday for one hour prior to service at the church.
She was born Oct. 29, 1944, in Springfield to Albert and Gertrude (Dallmann) Storch. She lived on a farm near Lamberton until 1954, when the family moved to a farm in the Redwood Falls area. She attended country school near Lamberton and Redwood Falls. She graduated from Redwood Falls High School in 1962. She worked in the kitchen in the Redwood Falls Hospital.
On Sept. 8, 1973, she married Delbert Macklenburg in Morgan. They farmed in Vesta Township. She was a member of Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Echo, where she taught Sunday school. She sang in the choir and belonged to the Ladies Aid.
She is survived by her husband; a brother: Richard (and Bethel) Storch of Redwood Falls; and a sister: Carol (and Phil) Felleson of Redwood Falls.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
