Jaunita I. Seffens Aug. 4, 1919 - Dec. 7, 2009
WILLMAR -- Juanita I. Seffens, 90, of Willmar died Monday at her home following an extended illness.
The service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church in Willmar. Burial will be at Cloverleaf Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Peterson Brothers Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church.
She was born Aug. 4, 1919, in Bancroft, Iowa, to Olaf and Lilly (Hunsigker) Olson. At the age of 8, she moved to Willmar with her family and graduated from Willmar High School in 1937.
She married James Seffens on Sept. 28, 1938. They lived in Willmar where she worked at the Willmar State Hospital and Puritan Cafe as a waitress. From the mid '60s to the mid '70s she owned and operated the Dorm Cafe and then worked at Jennie-O Foods, retiring in 1995.
She was a member of First Baptist Church in Willmar and active with the MOPS program.
She is survived by five children: Betty (and Jim) Himmelspach of Prinsburg, Bea Haney of Willmar, Jolene McGee of St. Paul, Virginia Burton of Minneapolis and Mitchell Seffens of St. Paul; 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one brother: Andy (and June) Olson of Willmar.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1997; one son: Gerald; three brothers; one sister; and two sons-in-law.
