Jayne Johnson Dec. 17, 1940 - June 13, 2009
MONTEVIDEO -- Jayne Marlys Johnson, 68, of Montevideo and formerly of Milan, died Saturday at her home in Montevideo.
The service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Kviteseid Lutheran Church in Milan. Burial will be in the Kviteseid Lutheran-Milan Methodist Cemetery.
Visitation will be this afternoon and evening, with the family present from 5 to 7 p.m., at Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo.
She was born Dec. 17, 1940, at Milan to Elmer and Helen (Frederick) Olson. She graduated from Milan High School in 1958.
She married Verlin Johnson. They moved to Milan in 1970, and she managed the Carlson Doll Factory of rural Milan until it closed in 1993. She was a nurse's aide at the Appleton Nursing Home from 1994 until June of 1999 when she was diagnosed with breast cancer. She moved to Montevideo in 2003.
She was active at Kviteseid Lutheran Church. She served as a caregiver to several people with cancer.
She is survived by her daughter: Kim (and Bob) Raveling of Montevideo; stepchildren: Dave (and Janet) Johnson of Andover, Cathy (and Steve) Teske of Odessa and Sandy Johnson of Montevideo; seven grandchildren; a great-grandson; brothers: Kip (and Bonnie) Olson and Dennis (and Lorraine) Olson, all of Cottage Grove; sister: Corrine (and Donnie) Hallaway of Appleton; and a half brother, Donald (Ginny) Olson of Bemidji.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1992; stepson: Jeff Johnson; a grandson; and a brother.
