WILLMAR -- Jean Dorothy McGee, 83, of Spicer, died Tuesday at Bethesda Heritage Center in Willmar.
The service will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Hope Presbyterian Church in rural Spicer. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery in New London.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the church and one hour prior to the service Friday. Arrangements are by Johnson Funeral Home, New London.
She was born Nov. 2, 1925, in West Chicago, Ill., to Herman and Eva (McChesney) Dreibrodt. She grew up in West Chicago, attended country grade school and graduated from West Chicago High School in 1944.
She married Odis McGee on Aug. 14, 1946. They lived in West Chicago until moving to New London in 1972 when they bought the Mobile Station, which they owned and operated until 1980. She moved from her home on Nest Lake to an apartment in Spicer in 1995 before moving to the care center in Willmar in 2003. She worked at Hillcrest Truck Stop for 16 years before retiring. She also worked at GlenOaks Nursing Home as a certified nursing assistant.
She was a past member of the Willmar Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary.
She is survived by her children: Dorothy (and Clayton) Nelson of Punta Gorda, Fla., Ronald (and fiancée Terri) McGee of New London and Melanie (and Bruce) Baxter of Lisbon, N.D.; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and one sister: Lynn Peterson of New Mexico.
She was preceded in death by her husband on May 30, 1984, and three siblings.
