CLARA CITY -- Jeanette Meyer, 88, of Clara City, died Sunday at the Clara City Care Center.
The service will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Bethany Reformed Church in Clara City. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the church and for one hour prior to the service Thursday. Arrangements are with Tri-County Funeral Home in Prinsburg.
She was born Oct. 21, 1920, in Rheiderland Township, Chippewa County, to Herman and Tomka (Ammerman) Wearda. She attended District 55 School and graduated from Clara City High School.
She married William Meyer on Feb. 19, 1940, in Bunde. She worked at the Big V Store for 17 years.
She was a member of Bethany Reformed Church and was a member of the Mission Circle, Esther Circle, hosted Bible study and was also a volunteer worker at the Clara City Care Center.
She is survived by her children: Lois Sweep of Clara City and Judy Block of New London; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one brother: Paul (and Virginia) Wearda of Willmar; and one sister: Ruth Johnson of Granite Falls.
She was preceded in death by her husband; a son: Gordon Meyer; an infant grandson; three sisters; and two brothers.
