According to a news release from the union, Jennie-O has agreed to reinstate a fired employee and offer him back pay, as well as post a notice educating employees about their rights to organize a union.

In the notice, the company states that a fired employee, Kadar Yusuf Haji Ali, has the right to full reinstatement to his former job and will be reimbursed for any loss of earnings or benefits resulting from his dismissal. The company also promises to remove any reference to the firing from Ali's personnel file and says the discharge will not be used against him in any way.

The statement to be posted informs employees that they have the right to form or join a union and to choose representatives to bargain with the company on their behalf.

It also promises to do nothing to interfere with those rights and lists nine specific promises of non-interference.

Included in the list are statements that the company will not interrogate employees about union activities and will not threaten employees that they are being watched more closely or that they will be fired because of union activities.
