BENSON -- Joan Louise Hawkins, 74, of Benson, died Friday at her home.
The service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in Swift Falls. Burial will be in Swift Falls Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at the church and for one hour prior to the service Tuesday. Arrangements are by Zniewski Funeral Home in Benson.
She was born Nov. 1, 1934, in Heron Lake to John A. and Leona M. (Paradis) Brennan. She grew up in the Heron Lake, Lake Benton and Pipestone areas, attending school through the 10th grade.
She married Milo Hawkins on Sept. 28, 1963, in Pipestone. She worked at Earl B. Olson Farms in Swift Falls for 20 years, served as custodian at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, and sold Avon for 24 years.
She was a member of Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church and its WELCA.
She is survived by her sons: Kevin Evink of Sauk Rapids, and Dustin (and Brenda) Hawkins of New Ulm; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 2000; and her son: Justin Evink in 1995.
