WAITE PARK -- John Michael "Jack" Kragenbring, 74, of Waite Park, died Tuesday after battling ATC, a rare and aggressive form of cancer.
The service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Augustana Memorial Chapel in Litchfield.
Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service. Memorials are preferred to Augustana Homes of Litchfield, Coborn Cancer Center of St. Cloud or St. Cloud Hospital Hospice. Arrangements are by the Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home in Litchfield.
He was born April 22, 1934, on the Wheeler family farm on Diamond Lake in Kandiyohi County to Aubner and Gertrude (Wheeler) Kragenbring. After graduating from Litchfield High School in 1952, he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps rising to the rank of sergeant. He served two years in French Morocco and at bases stateside. After his discharge, he was employed by Anderson Chemical Company of Litchfield as a sales representative. He worked for the company for 40 years. He was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 2818.
On April 20, 1957, he married Mary Lee Krout in Litchfield. After retirement, they moved to Park Rapids and later to Waite Park
He is survived by his wife; two daughters: Ann Kragenbring (and Phil Bode) of Minneapolis and Linda (and Kurt) Hansen of Park Rapids; four grandchildren; six siblings: Merwood (and Alice) of Junction City, Ore., Bonnie (and Jim) Fenner of Fort Collins, Colo., Geri (and Jerry) Keavy of St. Louis Park, Owen Kragenbring, Kathy Christensen and Ronnie (and Marie) Kragenbring, all of Litchfield.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
