Johnson and Gardner win in Willmar Ward 2 primary

WILLMAR -- Tim Johnson swamped incumbent Steve Gardner and candidate Bob Skor in the Willmar City Council's Second Ward primary election Tuesday. But Gardner held a one-vote lead over Skor in a three-way race defined partly by division over the Westwind Estates afford-able housing project and concerns over residential flooding in the southwest part of town.

Unofficial results placed Johnson first with 528 votes, Gardner second with 151 and Skor third with 150. A total of 829 votes were cast, according to unofficial results.
