Joseph F. Cannon March 1, 1928 - May 15, 2009
MURDOCK -- Joseph "Joe" Francis Cannon, 81, of Murdock, died Friday at St. Cloud Hospital.
The service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Murdock. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the church, with a rosary at 4:30 p.m., and for one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements are with the Zniewski Funeral Home in Benson.
He was born March 1, 1928, in Minneapolis to Joseph and Rose (McQuaid) Cannon. He grew up north of DeGraff and attended country school in Kildare Township.
On June 23, 1953, he married Marjorie Frerich in Sauk Rapids. They farmed north of DeGraff until 1963. He worked during the winters for Tyler's Manufacturing in Benson. He worked road construction for Duininck Inc. from 1963 to 1974. He continued to work as a millwright, repairing grain elevators until his retirement.
He was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Murdock and a former member of the Knights of Columbus.
He is survived by his wife; his children: Michael Cannon of DeGraff, Patrick (and Renee) Cannon of Benson, Francis (and Linda) Cannon of Hutchinson, Rita (and David) Wolf of Clara City, Rose (and Robert) Beauchamp of Rice, Ruth (and Dave) Arends of Belgrade, Renae (and Monte) Storms of Hutchinson, Timothy (and Vicki) Cannon of Morris, Gregory (and Martina) Cannon of Redwood Falls, and Roxane Cannon of Cambridge; and 21 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son: Kenneth Cannon.
