Josephine Fougeron Dec. 1, 1913 - June 10, 2009

MORRIS -- Josephine Elizabeth Fougeron, 95, of Morris, died Wednesday at the Stevens Community Medical Center in Morris.

The service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at First Lutheran Church in Morris. Burial will be in Summit Cemetery in Morris.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris.

She was born Dec. 1, 1913, in Swan Lake Township, Stevens County, to John and Wilhelmina (Block) Kopitzke. She attended country school in rural Stevens County.

She married William Frederick Fougeron on Sept. 24, 1936. She was a homemaker. They lived in Houston, Texas, until 1947, when they moved to Morris. She worked in retail and later cooked in the high school cafeteria. After retirement, she cooked at the Developmental Achievement Center in Morris, provided child care in the Early Childhood and Family Education program and over the years provided live-in child care during extended parent absences.

She was a member of First Lutheran Church in Morris, where she was active with the ladies aid.

She is survived by four children: John (and Sylvia) Fougeron of Brevard, N.C., James (and Corrine) Fougeron of Omaha, Neb., George (and Cheryl) Fougeron of Annapolis, Md., and Dorothy (and Darrell) De Jager of Starbuck; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one sister: Rose Gibson.

She was preceded in death by her husband June on 20, 1979; and eight siblings.
