Joyce J. Nerison June 7, 1928 - June 28, 2009
GRANITE FALLS -- Joyce June Nerison, 81, of Granite Falls died Sunday at Granite Falls Hospital.
The service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Granite Falls Lutheran Church. Burial will be at Terrace Lawn Memory Gardens in Montevideo.
Visitation will be one hour before the service at the church. Wing-Bain Funeral Home of Granite Falls in handling arrangements.
She was born June 7, 1928, in Cottonwood to Leonard and Bernice (Solberg) Laroen. She grew up in the Cottonwood area and attended school in Clarkfield, Hanley Falls and Wood Lake.
She married Norman Nerison on June 12, 1946, in Montevideo. They lived in Kansas City, Mo., and Granite Falls before moving to Montevideo. She received her high school diploma from Montevideo High School in 1968. She attended the University of Minnesota Morris and received her degree in early childhood education. She worked at Plews Manufacturing in Granite Falls as a punch press operator, retiring in 1989.
She was a member of Granite Falls Lutheran Church and was active with ladies aid and was active with 4-H.
She is survived by her children: James (and Gloria) Nerison of Prior Lake, Diane (and Curt) Doring of Burnsville, Trudy (and Steve) Johnson of Kenyon, Marsha (and Bill) DuHoux of Clara City, Bob Nerison of Clara City, Jon Nerison of Burnsville and Mary Jo Weckwerth (and fiancé Ken Killebrew) of Savage; 19 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; siblings: Darlene Harris of New Hope and Darrel (and Rose) Laroen of Brooklyn Center.
She was preceded in death by her husband, one sister and one brother.
