Judy Tollefson May 17, 1938 - Nov. 13, 2009
HAWICK -- Judith Anne "Judy" Tollefson, 71, of Hawick, died Friday at her home in rural Hawick.
The service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Nordland Lutheran Church in rural Paynesville. Private burial will be at the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the church. Arrangements are with Johnson Funeral Home.
She was born May 17, 1938, in Minneapolis to Carleton and Frances (Sager) Dewey. She grew up in Richfield and graduated from Richfield High School in 1956. She graduated from the University of Minnesota with a bachelor's degree in nursing.
She married Doug Tollefson on Feb. 18, 1961, in Minneapolis. They lived in Benson, and she worked as a public health nurse. In 1971 they moved to Hawick. She worked as a registered nurse for the Willmar Regional Treatment Center.
She was a member of Nordland Lutheran Church in rural Hawick where she was active as the parish nurse and also with the Nordland Lutheran Church Women. She volunteered for Rice Hospice.
She is survived by her husband; children: John (and Becky) Tollefson of Moline, Ill., Robert (and Amy) Tollefson of Maple Lake, Sharon (and Mark) Teague of Sherman, Texas, and Laura (and Josh) Wangen of Hawick; 13 grandchildren; and two great-granddaughters.
She was preceded in death by one brother.
