Juhnke to seek re-election to House 13B seat

WILLMAR -- State Representative Al Juhnke, DFL-Willmar, will be seeking re-election in District 13B, he announced on Thursday.

Juhnke is currently serving his seventh term in the Legislature. He was first elected in 1996.

He serves as chair of the House Agriculture, Rural Economics and Veterans Affairs Finance Division and the Capital Investment Finance Division, Environment Policy and Oversight, Finance, Rules and Legislative Administration and Telecommunications Regulation and Infrastructure Division.

Juhnke said it has been an "honor and privilege'' to serve the district and that he hopes to use his experience to work on the significant challenges in the years ahead.

He cited his support of biofuels and ethanol as chair of the agriculture committee. He is author of legislation to require B-20 blends in all vehicles by 2015.

District 13B includes the cities of Willmar, Spicer, New London and most of Kandiyohi County.
