OLIVIA -- Julia K. Steffel, 90, of Olivia died Saturday at the Golden Living Center in Olivia.
The service will be at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Olivia. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Dirks-Blem Funeral Home in Olivia with a prayer service at 6 p.m. and from 9:15 to 10:15 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
She was born Oct. 4, 1918, in Olivia to John and Mathilda (Julius) Dobmeier. She grew up in rural Olivia and attended country school.
She married William Stefffel on Nov. 14, 1939, and they farmed in rural Olivia. She later moved into town and lived at Parkview Village for three years and was a resident of the Golden Living Center at the time of her death. She was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church.
She is survived by three children: Bill (and Barb) Steffel of Olivia, Jerry (and Jan) Steffel of St. Paul and Dave (and Nancy) Steffel of Plano, Texas; two sons-in-law: Dick Toren and Tom Kodet, both of Olivia; 16 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and siblings: Donald (and Mary Lou) Dobmeier of Olivia and Sally Steil of Estherville, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her husband; two daughters: Joan Toren and Donna Kodet; four brothers; and three sisters.
